Vision 15-500
Planting 500 Indigenous churches by 2015
Silvia Cauca
Ethnic group Guambianos & Paeces
It's been 75 years since the Gospel arrived to the Guambiano Ethnic group The conferences were like refreshing, new waters for those who participated in the seminary. Guambiana women work much like the other ethnic groups; we found that women are wounded and mistreated physically and verbally and that consequently divorce and separations have increased within the church.
Continuing Crisalinco's Vision 15-500
We ask for your prayers for Luis Alberto, a Guambiano pastor who has decided to dedicate his life to instruct the children in the Word of God assuming the consequences that this can bring upon him. The arrival from multiple denominations to the Guambiano town has not been a blessing; on the contrary it has brought division in the church. Please pray for this since we are one in the Body of Christ.
When the Gospel was brought to this group children were not seen as very important and nowadays the consequences are seen. The highest authority of the tribe has decreed that children seven years old and under cannot be spoken to about God or the Bible. The parents must sign a commitment document that promises they will not to talk to their children (or any children) about any religion until they turn seven years of age and that the only thing they are allowed to teach are the beliefs and gods of their ancestors.
